On March 31, the Quad published a short column by Corina Cappabianca entitled “Not an April Fool’s joke: Stalinists are speaking at NYU.”
It has come to our attention that much of its content was taken, without attribution, from an op-ed by Ronald Radosh that appeared in the New York Post on March 23.
Cappabianca’s column originally appeared in the Washington Square News, a student newspaper at NYU. The Quad reprinted it with Cappabianca’s permission.
Journalists have a fundamental responsibility to credit their sources–and the failure to do so represents a breach of trust with their readers.
We have removed Cappabianca’s column from this website.
We apologize to our readers for publishing a column that failed to acknowledge Radosh’s original work. And we apologize to Radosh for allowing it to happen.
