Dumped for not promoting abortion enough, ex-Planned Parenthood chief rejoins elite university

Planned Parenthood dumped its CEO last month because she didn’t promote abortion to the exclusion of actual health concerns.

Now Leana Wen, the first physician to lead the abortion-rights group in several decades, is returning to the university where she previously practiced medicine.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the city’s former health commissioner will be a visiting professor in health policy and management at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health.

She’ll also serve as a distinguished fellow at the private university’s Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity. The namesake of the institute has been her mentor since she was 18, Wen told the Sun.

Wen previously served at the Milken Institute at GW and also in its department of emergency medicine.

Her GW faculty page still says she’s on a “leave of absence” from her role as director of patient-centered care research. It continues to list her as adjunct associate professor of emergency medicine.
